An elegant lobby blending effortlessly with its heritage building greeted me as I arrived at this boutique hotel. The lobby is adjacent to a 24-hour bar serving snacks and fine beverages. Naumi translates from Sanskrit as “The 9th day” as well a welcoming expression meaning “Be with you fellow travellers”. Liora on the other hand is Hebrew, meaning “my light”. As the name suggests, Naumi Liora is the glowing lamp, beckoning travellers into its comforting and warm embrace at the end of a long day. Installed in a tastefully restored 1920s Peranakan-style heritage building, Naumi Liora features 79 inspiring rooms that are divided into 3 categories. Each has been styled distinctively to retain elements of the building’s heritage values while blending beautifully with the comfort of modern design. All rooms are complete with en suite private bathrooms and LCD television with cable channels.
I stayed at Liora Porch, the highest room category in Naumi Liora. These rooms can be up to 30 square metres and with their original and endearing aspects have been carefully designed to provide maximum comfort and guest facility. An adjoining private porch overlooking the scenic Duxton Plains is roomy enough to relax away from the hustle and bustle of this lively city. Liora Heritage rooms here offer an alternative to the high end of Liora Porch. Featuring both single and double accommodation these rooms present with the charm of French windows and offer premium amenities. Workstations with hotel wide Wi-Fi are a feature of the Liora Heritage rooms that are well suited for business travellers. Liora Quaint rooms are loft rooms of up to 20 square metres.
